Bryan's Story
Relocated from Canastota, NY to southwestern Virginia two days after finishing 7th grade (Canastota Jr. High) in June '72 (talk about CULTURE SHOCK...but in retrospect, have met some of the most down-to-earth, non-pretentious people of my life here).
Once resided at 306 Tuttle Ave. in a sea-foam green 2-story house; I remember all those impromptu neighborhood ball games, playing with Matchbox cars around the trees and curbside in front of our house, sledding (down here it's called "sleigh riding") down that long hill running parallel to Tuttle Ave. in the winter time, and the occasional vegetable war with freshly pulled produce (beets, corn, and carrots all make for great projectiles) from my parents' garden (got my butt tore up for that, too...).
Joined the Navy after high school graduation; have visited Spain, Italy, Greece, Tunisia, Egypt, Germany, England and spent more time than I care to remember in the Persian Gulf while stationed aboard the USS ...Expand for more
NIMITZ ( three years and three months ). Met Kirk Douglas, Ron O'Neal, and Martin Sheen while they were onboard for the filming of "THE FINAL COUNTDOWN." Have too many memories from that era to share here...
Have finally met my soul mate...I met her first on the internet, corresponded on and off for a few months, met her in person, had a long-distance relationship for about six months, and then she relocated from Richmond to Radford to be with me. We've been together for over three years now and have been engaged since April '07.
And I'm so thankful and lucky I never had kids with any of the females in my past relationships (maybe they feel that way too...). No baby mama drama here...
To those of you who found that special someone early in life and can STILL at least tolerate them on a daily basis, you really lucked out...
And for those who are reading this and disapprove of interracial relationships (like I really care)...you can go "ELSEWHERE..."
