Bryan's Story
Life
I'm a dad of three, happily married to the former Kelli Cotter (MoCo '88). Our kids are 10,8, and 5. We currently live in Texas, but have been in Georgia and Colorado. I'm a minister in a church in the DFW area and I'm writing as often as possible. My 3rd book, called Take A Closer Look, came out at the first of September, and I'm looking for a publisher for my 4th book, called The Way of the Warrior.
We're happy and busy, like most folks. visit me at my website (do an internet search for me and you'll find it) and drop me a line!
School
I graduated from Moffat County High in 1990 and went to the University of Denver on an academic scholarship. I joined the Sigma Chi fraternity midway through my freshman year and I think you could see an inverse relationship between my fraternity involvement and my scholastic performance.
I became a Christian in 1993, and soon left D.U. I transferred to the University of Colorado and got serious about school again. I graduated a semester late from the transfer, but got good grades again. A few weeks after graduation, I was married to the former Kelli Cotter and a week after that we moved to Fort Worth where I enrolled in Seminary to earn...Expand for more
a master's degree.
I managed to squeeze a two year program into three years as we began our family. I graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Religious Education (I think they call it Christian Education today).
At times, I've toyed with the notion of returning to school and earning a doctorate. Every time I do, though, the toy breaks and I go back to work.
Workplace
At the ten year reunion,I received the recognition for having the most unusual occupation...as a pastor. Since then, I've continued in full-time Christian ministry, but have been an editor for a national magazine and a men's ministry consultant (I guess that's the best word for it). For the past 2 years, I've been back in the local church as a minister of education & discipleship (which basically means I teach folks how to apply the Bible to life). I get to lead a team of excellent colleagues to help make a difference to the communities of the North Central Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
I've continued to write. I'm in the process of writing two books that will likely be published in 2008. My manuscript called The Way of the Warrior is shelved until these are completed.
