I came to South Stokes the beginning of the 1991 school year as a Senior transferring from Ledford Senior High. My parents had decided to move to King that year, and at the time South Stokes was the closest school. Unfortunately I am not in the school yearbook, at all. I had attended Union Grove Christian School a couple years earlier, and my parents had gotten into a financial crisis that year, and could not pay the school tuition money. I had passed all my classes, but that school decided to keep my credits on hold. When it came time to graduate from South Stokes, my parents were informed that I could not participate in graduation ceremonies and would not receive a diploma. I was crushed. Even worse, my picture in the school yearbook was taken out or never taken at all. Ten years later, through a loophole in the system, Union Grove finally released my credits to South Stokes, I got my diploma in the mail but had missed out walking down the aisle in my cap and gown.
