Bryant's Story
Life-
I was married many years, now divorced, since 1993. I have 6 children, 3 boys & 3 girls. All but 2 live in Austin,Tx. One daughter lives in Tyrone, Okla. and one lives in San Antonio, Tx. I'm living in Corpus Christi, Tx. now. I lived on England Street in Foster Place, while in Elementary school and 2 years of Jr. High, then moved to North side of Houston and went to Burbank Jr. High, then Marshall Jr. High. Went to Jeff Davis High for 2 years, then finished my senior year at Woodward High School in Oklahoma.
Came back to Houston in '66, remarried and moved to Austin, Tx., where I lived on Lake Austin for 5 years, until I divorced, again. I stayed there, as Austin is such a wonderful, clean city and finished raising my children and got them all through high school. I was in the Legal field and had many friends, so I was not too lonely, but I'm down here in Corpus alone, now-so would like to meet up with old friends from my school days and swap stories of life with everyone.
I've been employed as a Secretary, Recept., Estimator, Realtor, Insurance salesperson and Legal Ass't. Now, I'm working at the trauma hospital, in Communications, setting up pagers for all the doctors and nurse's stations
and calling the Codes. It's very interesting and I really like my job.
I go to Delta Downs to gamble, about once a month and have a blast! I go with a sister and brother-in-law.
I wish I could find the friends I had many years ago, even if just to say, "Hello", before I get too old to remember them. lol
School-
Elem school was so much fun! My favorite teacher was Mrs. Leach. I think she taug...Expand for more
ht 4th grade. Of course, she had the cutest son in school, Bill Leach. I had a huge crush on him, but never told anyone. I wonder what ever happened to him?
That was in Houston, at Foster Elem.
I went to Cullen Jr. Hi. for almost 2 years. My mom got sick, so my brother, Guinn Paxton and I, moved in with my sister on Crosstimbers and I went to Burbank Jr. Hi. for several months. My best friend was named Margie. We moved to the north side of town and I then went to Marshall Jr. Hi. After graduating from Marshall, I went to Jeff Davis High. My best friends were Pat Doyle, Barbara Schindler, Wanda Jones and Judy (Pinkie) Weaver. We sure had some fun times! In my senior year, I moved to Woodward, Oklahoma and finished high school there.
College-
I didn't attend college, except to take a few classes at community colleges when I could find time. I received certificates for all the classes I took; Real estate, 180 classroom hours; Insurance, 60 classroom hours; Blueprint Reading for Estimating, 15 classroom hours, etc. I became a Legal Assistant in Austin, for a Judge and Attorney. I worked there for 15 years before moving to Corpus and going to work at the Christus Spohn Health system, 5 years ago. I'm thinking of retiring, soon, but need to pay off a few bills, first.
I just wish I could find someone I used to know! I had many friends, but when I married, my 1st husband burned all of my autograph books, pictures and yearbooks, so all I have to remember from, is my memory! SAD!
If anyone remembers me and would like to talk, my number is in the Corpus Christi phone book, under Bryant Wood!
