Burnell's Story
When I'm 64...
I actually believe it's going to happen! That's how it works for me. It kind of hits me on the head and I say "OH YEA".
OK, its 3 weeks away and I feel good. 64 is a lot of miles down the road. IâÂÂve had some road rash but I got patched up along the way. I'm not hiding any dents or mechanical problems but I can't go up the hills as fast as I used to.
So, finally l can enjoy the scenery. Perform without burning out. I think it helps me be a nicer guy. Hey, I can't remember all the fancy words I used to use to impress everyone with my aptitude. when I do a good job and always a desire to do more. It keeps me alert and caring. Wow! this is turning out better than I thought it would. And my family, that's the most significant part of my life and the place where I get to live. Words won't express the pride I have for the gift of our kids. It's just gratitude and love.
The main thing for me is to breathe easy, dance a lot and be part of the solution, not the problem. Help others to get what they want. (Idealistic goals, so be it!)
Those are my self-imposed marching orders and my formula to keep smiling. As a human being I'll try to stay with it as much as I can and not beat myself up when I don't make it happen.
So, I've told you the good parts of the journey to 64. There were wrong turns and dead ends (lots of them) but I needed every one of them. I didn't learn things easily but I learned them well. I just keep going and left the stuff that didn't work behind.
Thanks for checking out my story. If you get a chance let me know what you're thinking.
