Kathleen's Story
Life
I was not a student at Roosey Roads but I taught Business Education while I was working on my Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling. My husband was a Dental Officer (LT) and is now an orthodontist and a Captain in the Navy Reserves. We have boy-girl twins. Our son will start Dental School this September(2004)and our daughter is a senior at MIT. Although I may have seemed old to you at the time, I was just 24 years old and some of you may now have children almost that old. My, how time flies. I worked more than ten years as a high school and elementary school guidance counselor. We remain in touch with CDR Ken and Marcia Johnson, Mark's parents and Mrs. Lynn Horstm...Expand for more
an, the school secretary, and Captain Bartosh. I hope that life has treated you well. Well--many years have passed since I wrote the above. Both of my children are well established orthodontists now. Dear Lynn Horstman, Captain A.J. and Mrs.Olga. Bartosh have all passed away. We. went back. to Roosey a few years. ago and. it. was so. sad. to see the 'jungle' reclaiming all our familiar haunts. We. couldn't even get. over to housing. Only the Army Reserves and National Guard maintain a large presence there. Such a waste---and Puerto Rico sure could have used the $400 million that the Navy pumped. into the. local economy every year.. Be. well.
