Life
Married(Joanne-since 1987), 3rd time (Marriage) was a Charm. Own Tax Franchise & Licensed Insurance Agent, Lived in Savannah, Ga since 1975. Where "the Book" (garden of Good and Evil) came from and where the 2nd largest St. Patrick's day parade in US is held each March 17th. As of 03/17/2004, I had an accident and have an above the Knee Amputation. I have a bionic Leg, contains a micro chip, and has to be charged up at night.
Workplace
After UNCC, I joined the Air Force and worked full time at the NC Air National Guard in charge of Military Pay and Travel. When I decided being inside all day wasn't going to be my life's dream of being a CPA, I went into Sales, first at AAA of Carolina's, Then Bankers Life of Iowa in Insurance sales, Spend 5 years as Salesmanager of Chap Stick and Sergeant's Pet Care Products in Carolinas and transferred to Dallas, TX, and 5 years working out of Chicago for Ronco Teleproducts, all those gadgets and gimmicks you used to see
"As advertised on TV" - Traveled extensively for 15 years in Sales and Managements, mostly from Boston to Texas, and lived in Chicago Briefly. Ended up in Savannah, Ga with RonCo, because I was divorced, Single and since I traveled so much it didn't matter where my address was. Fell in Love with Hilton Head SC but Savannah made more since to fly out. With the demise of Ronco, I tried my hand at many things locally, but found out if I didn't own the business, opportunities were limited in Savannah as far as employment was concerned. Went back into Insurance with a Life company and ended up in management, until I decided to branch off on my own and open an independent insurance agency of my own in 1988, sold it in 1992, and started a career as a consultant to other independent insurance agencies of all size from one man office to large 20+ offi...Expand for more
ces, implementing Automation in those offices to take them paperless. Worked in over 300 offices nationwide, became an contributing editors to over 40 state insurance magazines and gave seminars, taught CE classes at many state insurance conventions from FL to CA. Came off the Road in 2000 to work at home for a software company developing an upgrade from a DOS agency automation program to a new windows version and worked on and developed the first Video training ever developed for that industry. After completing that projected. I decided that I needed something to do untill I really wanted to retire so I once again struck out and open a new, from scratch, insurance agency in Savannah in Jan. 2003. The best part is NO EMPLOYEES. I do it all on my own and I love it. My wife Joanne and I met in Insurance in 1985, and have been married for since 1987,Joanne retire in 2009 after 38 years with the same company). It has been a good and fun ride, and it led me to Savannah, a great wife, a great life, and discovery of my Irish Roots and how much that means to me. I am actively involved in all of Savannah's Irishness, and belong to 5 Irish Societies, have worked for over 25 years helping to put on the St. Patrick's Day Parade each March 17th, if you have never been here, come on Down, we would love to have you. I am the past president of my neighborhood Assoc for 10 year, and worked actively with City and Police on Neighborhood Watch and National Night out Projects. I have attended the Citizens Police Academy and City of Savannah Citizens Academy. My wife is a super artist and we found her calling on the internet, since 2000 offering Pet Portraits that she paints and I am the webmaster, marketing guy.
