Marga Camille's Story
OK, so most of you now know that I was adopted by the von Hungen's. You probably also know that I had my DNA done in 2015 and found who my father was. Well, here is the rest of the story that I discovered when I went to Alabama to meet my 4 brothers and 5 sisters. My birth mother still lives in Escalon. She lived in Manteca for many years and was married for a few to a Hanlon. I have two half-sisters. Later she married Paul Tune and moved to Escalon.. After Paul died, she continued to live in Escalon. She has now passed away. My father met and married her back in 1943, however the marriage was not legal. When he shipped out to Europe, she went back to her family in Oklahoma. Her family moved to California, where I was placed for adoption, without my dad's knowledge. ring WWII He was captured, escaped, shot, and escaped again. When he was discharged from the army in 1946 he went back to Oklahoma to find his wife and baby (me). He found the family had moved and no one would tell him where. They only said the baby girl was put up for adoption. As it turned out, I was actually sold to the von Hungens for $2000. He went to city hall to get a copy of his marriage license but there wasn't one. The marriage was a scam to get his military allotment and death benefit when he was killed in the war .He went back to Alabama, continued his life, but always looking for his child. He married, had 4 boys and 5 girls. He died at age 49 from lung cancer. He asked his wife to please have the children continue to search for their missing sister.. Now you know the rest of the story.
