Candace (Candy)'s Story

School I absolutely loved FC. I enjoyed every moment of it---I made some of my closet friends there, had a wonderful time in the theatre department--fell in love for the first time, had my heart broken for the first time....it was a John Hughes movie. I wouldn't change a thing!!!! I would love to get in contact with any of the old theatre gang...:) College I attended Boston University for the Arts for one year. I think with my parents divorce and the fact that the school was so focused on "acting" and nothing else I wasn't ready for it. I was so unhappy there. Although the city of Boston was incredible I never fit in with the school and found my theatre education while working at a professional theatre called The Huntington Theatre Co. I knew it was time to leave BU when I could not find my aura on the floor----I transferred to James Madision University, where I majored in theatre---still never really felt like I fit in there either. Sometimes I wonder if it would have just been better for me to move to a city and start auditioning. After JMU and I took an internship at PLAYERS THEATRE COLUMBUS in Columbus, OH for 10 months and for me my "college" life was really there---I learned so much about my craft, the profession and began my life as a professional actor. College was wonderful in the sense of getting to experience taking different classes and meet new people but I definately enjoyed highschool more, and definately flourished in Columbus, OH at the theatre where I worked. It was that experiene which led me to move to Chicago where I worked as an actress and singer for many years.
