Candy's Story

After leaving EHS in 1970 (Junior year), I enrolled at Birmingham-Southern College to major in music. My plans changed after 2 years at BSC and married Marshall and transferred to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa to continue my education. I graduated from UA with a degree in Music Education and was employed with Birmingham Public Schools at Jones Valley High as their choral music teacher. After a few years of teaching, I decided to continue my education and obtained my Master's in School Counseling at Samford University and moved into a high school counseling position....Expand for more
Two children later and a move to the Atlanta area, I have continued my career in school counseling. Our family moved to the Nashville area for 9 years and have now returned to the Atlanta area. I am currently an elementary school counselor in Cobb County. We returned to the Atlanta area to be closer to our son and his family. Our grandson is the love of our lives and enjoy being able to see him often. Our daughter graduated from UA and is employed in Huntsville. We are officially empty nesters who love Bama football and attend homes games every fall. Can't wait...Roll Tide!
