Candy's Story
Life
The first thing I did out of high school was to get my RN. I attended two different schools - Immanuel Hospital and Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Between these two nursing schools, I attended Metro Tech to get my certificate as a surgical technician. After working as an RN for five years, I decided to go into accounting. I got my Associate Degree in Accounting at American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. I then moved to Winona Lake, Indiana where I got my Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting at Grace College (the college is associated with the Grace Brethren Church, of which I was a member at the time).

We do medical mission trips to the Quiche Indians in the mountains of Guatemala. After getting involved in this, I realized how much I missed nursing. In March of 2002, I went back into nursing.
In 2003, I moved to Crown Point, IN, a suburb of Chicago. I remain in my nursing profession.
My Âchildren are two (three) cats. Bijou was a longhaired Maine Coon look-alike who was born in 1990 and "crossed the Rainbow Bridge" on 05/01/06. Violeta Christina (Letty) is a shorthaired grey tiger, born in 2000. Letty is named for two of my Guatemalan patients. Juli (Anjuli Sita) is a Himalayan kitten born 06/07/06.
The most important thing I can do is figure out what GodÂs will for my life is and to do it.
