Cara's Story
Life
I am married for the second time to Steve. We are both teachers in Elkhart. I have a step-son named Matt (11), a son named Payton (3), and a daughter named Kalia (2). Matthew is in every activity that he can possibly participate, just like his dad. He plays basketball, football, and baseball. He is in band and 4H. Payton just started to play soccer at the YMCA. ing treated for leukemia. He was diagnosed at 20 months and has a little over a year left of treatment. He is doing well. We do not have a 100% prognosis, but we try to be positive and live life with our new "normal". The first year was the hardest. We had to travel to Riley a lot. Now we just travel to Memorial in South Bend 1 to 4 times a month. The rest is done at home. He is amazing, and we are so in love with him and our other two. Please pray for our family and for Payton.
