Carl's Story

Life Let's see...before my senior year at Westwood Christian after I had signed someone's yearbook and wrote a couple of bad words which this teacher read, I was told I had to attend Church literally everyday or leave...so I left, my family left Cuba because we didn't like people telling us how to think or what to do, besides we're Catholics according to these people we're all going to hell anyways. So I went to Southwest one year, my senior year, boring since I didn't know anybody but at least I was free from that psychotic Cult I call the Baptists. After graduation I went to MDCC aka 13th Grade, I managed to get my AA degree 15 years later, in between I had various jobs the most recent of which was working for the Post Office which is like being in prison because you're wearing blue uniforms, you work under hostile conditions, and there's lots of people of let's just say African descent, but you get paid good! After one too many clashes "wit mah supahvisahs" I decided to part company before I snapped and start my life anew and I am taking some courses and getting ready to attend a University and get into the Accounting field which was what I initially intended to do. I'm also leaving South Florida for good in the next few months. School Cinderella Nursery School 1976-1977 Very few fading memories of nursery school, mostly of taking naps in cots while the teacher watched Price is Right. I remember I tried to do an imitation of Superman flying by taking off from the top of the monkey bars and I broke my leg. Good times. Village Green Elementary School 1977-1984 Kindergarten through 4th grade were ok, 5th-6th sucked 'cos my parents got divorced and it affected me psychologically and emotionally. It was also during that time that a Cuban-Arab started bullying me (yes that combo does exist), what was worse he was my next door neighbor...he's currently in prison and I wasn't the least bit surprised, and even worse his mom left his dad for a black woman...hey Joey Gajate if you're reading this, at least my mom don't muff dive, how's prison? haha! Just kidding, all water beneath the bridge from 20 years ago, he's got it worse, locked up and on top of it all he's an Arab in a post 9/11 America, u got it a lot worse than me bro! Good luck! Westwood Christian 1984-1989 A 5 year nightmare I'm still till this day psychologically scarred. The school was runned by a Cult called the Baptists (they're all over this country, especially in the South)...basically Catholics go to he...Expand for more
ll because they're rituals and Biblical interpretations are different...nice to learn about my Catholic grandfather who was long dead that he was burning eternally where the worms dies not...any music that is not about Jesus is basically Satanic because everything just has to be so black and white in our pea-brained white trash minds, and of course the only school we had to take showers after PE...NAKED and our coach would make sure we were NAKED, of course he'd act like he was reading the newspaper whilst we dressed...and don't forget to make sure no hair from your required hair-cuts laps over the ears...20 demerits! And the students were mostly rich snobs (in Miami that means children of drug-dealers...not naming names but I am fully aware of some of your backgrounds!). Southwest Miami 1989-1990 Free from private school I went back to public school for my senior year, unfortunately because some classes I wasn't offered in the private school, I had to take classes with a lot of 10th graders so I missed out on literally all the senior events, actually I missed out a lot of school, skipping's awesome...I mastered the art, never caught, they bought all my bull**** excuses hook, line, & sinker...I do praise God for allowing my grandparents to live very long lives long after my high school days since their supposed deaths were the causes of a few extra 2 week breaks...I still had to go to summer school but it was worth it. College I went to Miami-Dade Community College sporatically throughout the 1990s starting after high school graduation. Initially I had no interest in anything except making money, I was tired of school. Then I'd get bored of work and return to school. Did that for about 15 years till I finally got my AA and decided to take my education further which I am currently doing. Workplace I had some crap jobs starting out of high school...I worked at Zayre, Burger King, Miami Subs, Best Buy, Publix, later went into real restaurants and became a sous-chef for a few years...the Biltmore hotel was the most luxorious place I worked, I later went to the Post Office where I was a letter carrier (mailman) for almost 6 years till I recently had enough of the 6 day work week among other things and went back to school. Military After high school I tried to join the Army but they wouldn't let me because of their weight requirements, but I bet they'd take me now the way things are going with Bu$h (don't get me wrong I hated Clinton too...same s**t, different a**holes).
