Carmel's Story
Life
Since graduation I have been quite busy. I married a man that I met in marching band at SEMO who was the band director at a small school in Southeast Missouri. Now after being the band director for seven years, he became the HS principal at the same school last year.
I am a sixth grade teacher. I teach english and science, and I am also the dance team coach, which I absolutely adore!!!! I am currently working on my Master's degree in Secondary Literacy through Mizzou.

I would do so many things differently if I could. I would have studied harder and tried to not care so much that I wasn't popular. What does high school popularity get you anyway??? :-)
I am glad that I did all of the things that I truly loved doing: dance, choir, band; regardless of what people thought of me. I liked what I did, so what if others didn't?
My single regret is not getting to know some people that I went to school with better. As an educator, I now see from a different perspective what those social aspects of high school are all about. It is a riot to sit on the other side of the desk!!!!
