Carol's Story
Life
After high school, I worked a couple of jobs and then went for missionary training in Salem, OR. for a year. I then went to Switzerland on missions (81-82)...I know, rough life, where I met my husband. While in Europe, we traveled through Italy, Greece, Israel, Yugoslavia, France and Spain. That year was life changing. I miss Switzerland. My husband and I hope to go there for our 25th!! I can't wait.
After marrying Joe in '83, we have lived in Virginia, Montana, Oregon, and now Texas. Except for Texas, we have had one child in each of those states. Hannah-17, Bekah-14...Expand for more
, and Joey-12. While in Virginia, my husband got his master's in Public Policy and then his J.D. I became an R.N. Once Joey was born, I stopped nursing. I home schooled all my children through 8th gr., except Joey. The girls are at a Christian high school and Joey is at a charter school in the 7th grade. We have been in Brownsville, TX for almost 12 years. Definitely not the place I would've settled...it's a God thing. I miss the beautiful NW and visit atleast once a year.
Now, I am praying about whether or not to get back into nursing, or start a new career. God only knows.
