I was quite shy in high school. Came from a very dysfuntional family. I was Mike Askwith's girlfriend. We were engaged briefly in high school but did not get married. Mike's mother and father did not like me. Now that I am grown; I understand why. Mike married a very nice lady, named Cathy, while they were in college. Through the years, Mike and I have kept in touch off and on but have not seen each other since shortly after graduation. Mike came to the foster home I was living at to say hello and to introduce me to his son David. I got married six months after graduation to someone I met at a nursing home that I was working at. I have two daughters and three grandchildren. I lived in Iwakuni, Japan with my husband who was serving in the Navy. We moved around alot; as most military families do. Mountain View, CA. Then to Guam for two years. Beautiful island! We got involved in many water sports including scuba diving. WW 2 left many interesting ships, tanks and airplanes to dive on; I loved it! Then we moved to Jacksonville, NC where we bought our first home and put down some roots. Then I got the notion of joining the Navy myself.
