Carol Mitchell:  

Rich and I met at St. Charles Grammar School (when I was in the 3rd grade) and became friends. Shortly after, we moved back to our old neighborhood (OLPH) and Rich and I lost touch. My parents moved again for a bigger house (more children) and I went to Holy Cross where I graduated from 8th grade, and went on to Greece Olympia. Rich and I remet while in different High Schools (Rich from Charlotte High and me from Greece Olympia High) and again became good friends but didn't realize we were friends from the past, but soon found out we were friends from the past.. We both graduated in June 1964 and he left for the Air Force in July 1964. We were engaged on Christmas 1964. We married on my birthday May 1, 1965. We left Rochester and moved to Gettysburg, South Dakota. On June 66 we had our Son in Pierre, South Dakota. Unfortunely Rich left for Vietnam in September 66 and I returned to live in Spencertport NY. Rich returned home October 67 to be stationed at Griffis AFB, NY. On November 68 we had our Daughter. at Griffis Air Force Base in Rome, NY. We had planned to quit our military life and returned to Rochester. Then Rich received orders for Hickam AFB, Hawaii, oh to get away from the cold in NY. Rich and I decided to leave NY. Well Hawaii here we come. Rich and I loved the weather, what a Beautiful state. I had taken the Civil Service test in Utica, New York, I started working for the Military, Department of Defence -Civil Service in 1971 at Pearl Harbor Navy Base, and transfered to Hickam Air Force Base. I worked at every Military Base my husband was stationed at. Sadly we left Hawaii, and Rich next orders were Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. We bought our first New Home in Tucson, AZ I worked at Davis-Monthan AFB and transferred to the Pharmacy at the VA in South Tucson, AZ. Rich had received orders for Korea for a Year. I decided to stay in our home along with the 2 kids, 2 dogs in Tucson to get ready for the next Military move, and that included selling the house. Rich came home from Korea with orders for Langley AFB, Virginia, to buy our 2nd Brand new Home. I went to work for the Army at Fort Eustis at the Pharmacy and after a couple of years I transferred to Langley AFB and worked for the 1st TFW with the F15s....Expand for more
