Carol's Story
Life
Left Hammond in 1962 and never looked back until recently.
Worked as a graphic designer for several publishing companies in Chicago including Scott Foresman and Company and Encyclopedia Britannica.
Became involved in Democratic party politics. Worked in public relations for City of Chicago government beginning under Mayor Jane Byrne. In March of 1998 received the City's prestigious "Kathy Osterma...Expand for more
n Superior Public Service Award".
Retired from City government in July of 1998.
Mother of five daughters and six grandchildren ranging in age from 14 through 3.
Married twenty two years to second husband. Recently moved to a new house in Chicago Northwest suburbs and set up a painting studio in my home.
Finding that retirement agrees with me. Having a great time.
All in all, my life has been great.
