Carol's Story

Life I am married to the MOST wonderful husband a girl could ever have! I have 2 children, 21 and 24, who are supporting themselves in the style to which they have become accustomed. We have a cute house in Old Town Florissant and are anticipating retirement. School Ah, yes....school....well, it's really hard to get to know many people when there are nearly 1500 in your graduating class and there were double sessions. Especially if you weren't very popular...NO! I wouldn't do it all over again...I'm glad I survived and came out on the other side. I guess I must have learned something to graduate from college three times. My choice to go into teaching was definately a reaction to my school experience at HHS. I had wonderful English teachers who continued to feed my love of language and reading. I often wonder, as I suppose most unpopular people...Expand for more
do, where is everyone today? College My BA is from Indiana University and I hold to Master's Degrees--one from the University of Louisville, KY and one from Webster University, here in the StL area. Workplace I teach 7th grade communication skills at Kirby Middle School in the Hazelwood School District. After 30 years of traveling, I came back full circle 2 years ago. I have taught everything from kindergarten to college age, including infantry soldiers in the 10th Mountain Division at Ft. Drum NY. Military Although not officially a military service member myself, I nearly qualified after being married to an army officer for 25+ years. We were stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, Ft. Drum, NY, Ft. Knox, KY, Ft. Monmouth, NJ, Ft. Gordon, GA and twice in Germany--Karlsruhe and Ansbach. After so much travel, it is nice to come home to Florissant.
