Carol's Story
I left you all in the summer of 1967 before we went from John Gorre Jr High to Lee High. Many of you had attended Lackawanna Elementary w/me. I always wore my drk brwn hair down to my waist w/long bangs ala Cher...or as my father used to say "you look like a beatnik". Of course I never thought I resembled Maynard G Krebs from Dobie Gillis, no 'stache.
My family relocated to Swainsboro then to Adrian, Ga.
By 18 I had married and had two kids.A rough road to hoe but they were mine and I did it w/God's help. Today those two are my best friends.
I started w/GEICO at age 22 in Macon, GA, transferred to Dallas,Tx for 14 yrs then back to Macon. At the time I left in May,2005, I supervised an internal audit team for the Regional Attorney. Prior to that my team handled class action law suits.
During those years my two beautful daughters graduated college, married and I now have two granddaughters ages 13 yrs & 1yr with one grandson age 11yrs. My son recently earned a 4 yr music scholarshi...Expand for more
p to Univ of N Texas. My oldest g'daughter is 6 ft and a mean basketball player. She has already been invited to Mercer Univ to b'ball camp w/girls three grades ahead of her.Her brother is a great baseball player and is gearing up for All Stars Competition soon. Baby girl is crawling at the speed of light and learning to pull up. Needless to say they are all my pride and joy. I am blessed to have such wonderful kids.
Due to open heart surgery immediately followed by back to back lung surgery, I have developed fibromyalga and take life easy now.
I can't explain the joy it has given me to see so many old yet familiar names. Hope to hear from you all.
The two people from my past who I'd most like to hear from and/or see again are Merry Christmas and Kenny Williams, because she was my first best friend and he was my first boy friend.
It was great to see Steve Perez listed as he was Kenny's best friend.
Life is so short and friends truly are a wonderful blessing. Let me hear from you!
