Carol's Story

Life since high school. I liked working with hair so, right out of high school I went to Beauty School. I have been doing hair in a salon now since October of 1968. I will have been in a salon for 40 years. I have since gotten my own 1 chair salon. I have been there since February 03. I now can't image working in another salon for anyone again. When I first went to beauty school I wasn't thinking it wasn't going to be my lifes work but time goes by so quickly. I did get married in 78. We have 2 children my daughter was born in 1985 and my son was born in 1982. I still live in Grand Forks, I am hoping to move to our lake cabin near Bemidji when we retire. It is a dream I do hope comes true. My husband is 6 years younger than I so he will be working longer than I, so only time will tell if living at the lake will happen. My first crush was a boy I meet in kindergarden and we did alot of things together. We even made pot holders one summer as a business at the time. We just made enough money to buy more loops to make more pot holders. After a while we got board of making them even though we sold every one of them. We still hung out until abo...Expand for more
ut in junior high school. When he graduated from senior high he left town and went out on his own. I find that he was very brave to go out on his own right after high school. I found him on this web-site so we wrote back and forth a few times then I told him I was married and he stopped e-mailing. I thought it would be fun to remember things we did or had fun doing when we were young. My son was married in July 2008 and he made me a grandma as of Feb. 2, 2009. It was very exciting I was there when she was born. I stayed 3 days when my granddaughter was born when it was time to leave to go home it was very hard to leave. I hung up my comb and brush October of 2009, so I am currently working at Home of Economy only. Being a sales clerk in the clothing department. It is sure different you run into all kinds of people it has been interesting. I am now waiting until my second grandchild is going to be born January 22nd 2010 C-section again. Only this time they live near so she will have the baby here in town that will be much better for us. Plus I will need to watch my first grandchild so my son can be at the hospital with his wife and new baby.

We are at Tyler’s for Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas to Friends and Family.
I am going thru pictures and ran across this picture when I was 10 years old right before Halloween. So it was a costume party before going out Treat and Treating.

I now have a different looking mushrooms here I have no clue what they are. I like the looks of mushrooms I just don’t like to eat them.
These I haven’t seen before either but I do know they probably are not for eating.
