Carol-Lee's Story
Life
Ken and I have been married for 49 years. We lived in Amityville, where Ken was a police officer until he retired in '93. I was the director of a community marching band for 23 years.
Ken is a Vietnam Veteran - 1966-67. His basic Army training was in Fort Lewis, Washington. He was in the 4th/25th Divisions. We attended a reunion several years ago with many of the guys that they called "The Boat People". He spent most of his time in country, in the Iron Triangle. We have continued to attend reunions with the "brothers" that Ken was drafted with, did basic with, went on the boat to Vietnam with & fought with, side-by-side. We love the guys & their wives & are sad that we are losing such wonderful friends who are passing away.
We moved to Lakeland, Florida in 1993 to join my parents and siblings.
I was have a Weight Watchers Coach for 25 years and just retired in February 2021!

management at Panera Bread. They graduated from the Universities of South and North Florida, respectively. Kenny and the love of his life, Stephanie, got married on 6/7/08. We are blessed with two adorable grandsons! My dear 81-year old mother passed away from the complications of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). She had been diagnosed 11 months earlier. She had been amazingly active and healthy until then. They had celebrated their 60th anniversary in November '08 and were the happiest couple that everyone knew. My wonderful father and mother were reunited in Heaven in Nov. 2020 - he had just turned 92.
We have had a WONDERFUL life! My dream to be a wife and mother was fulfilled and now I had a great career...what more could I ask for! Ken was very fulfilled in his 21-year career as a police officer in Amityville & retired (8/08) from the Polk Co. Florida Sheriff's Office. Ken is very involved in the Fraternal Order of Police.
Thank God, we're all in great health, too. Life is GREAT!
