Carol's Story

Holy cow...where to begin. Hung out mostly with the Greasers & Hoods in High School (Hank, Leigh, Jim, Chuck, Sandy...) we did the same stuff the jocks & cheer leaders did, drank a little, smoked a little, we just did it in different places. I was a puzzle for most of the teachers; made the honor roll, was a hall guard and spent some time in detention for skipping school. We got caught going to the Cleveland Natural History Museum instead of class! I actually had a good time in school and made a lot of friends and a couple of really good ones. Unfortunately, life happens and we loose touch with even good friends. (Any one know anything about Pat(Wilson)Barnes or Leigh(Kapis)Brown?) After school I got married to Pat Harrison, had a baby, went to work for API in Chesterland (like lots of other 'Chardonians'. Had another baby, got divorced. Met a man that drove me entirely crazy and we moved to California where I had my third/last baby. After 12 years I found out...aaah, forget that...got divorced again and decided I liked being alone. Then came the 1989 earthquake and at a weak moment decided to get married again! That was over 20 years ago. I've got 3 grown kids of my own, the baby is 36, 2 step kids from my 2nd husband (Bobzilla) and 2 grand daughters that live close by. I also have 6 step-grand kids who don't live close. My oldest son, David lives in a group home in South San Francisco. He has Cornelia de Lange Syndrome. I won't explain here, if you really are interested you can find it on line. My daughter, Michelle, works at an accounting job and lives a few blocks away. She's married to a hammering kelp head. That's my name for construction workers who surf. Both of my grand daughters are going to college. One's studying nursing, the other is maybe studying for nursing. I hope so, I'm not getting any younger! My California baby, Tyson, is married to a woman who has a terrific laugh. He's in the sheet metal business and she's a pastry chef. They moved up into the mountains of Santa Cruz and it's kind of ha...Expand for more
rd to get them back down. No grand kids from them, just grand dogs. My husband works for the City of Santa Cruz. I worked for Plantronics for 17 years. They are a major manufacturer of hands-free headsets. After 17 years I got a boss that didn't see eye to eye with me so I quit. They hired 2 people to take my place - ain't it grand?!?! I did landscaping for a few months until I got talked into another 'office' job that lasted 2 years, got laid off from there and was all set to take the summer off but I made a mistake and emailed everyone I knew that I wouldn't be working there anymore so they shouldn't email me. That night I got a call from an ex-Plantronics engineer telling me he had a job for me...dang, there went my sitting on the couch reading romance novels and eating bon-bons time. I've been there for 9 years now. It's a small family owned company that started out in their living room, moved into their garage, then into an actual 'company' building. We build electronic inductors and transformers, cable assemblies as well as various equipment for the government. I'm a JOAT there; Jill Of All Trades, I do some assembly, purchasing, order maintenance, customer service, and am a sounding post for the family. So far I haven't cleaned any of the toilets but would if it called for it. It's a great place to live...I mean work. They 'get' me there, my strange sense of humor and my need to detail and organize everything, although you wouldn't think so by looking at my desk. I started scanning pictures to put on the site, unfortunately my old scanner died and I haven't totally figured out this super duper new one quite yet. The Prom picture is the closest thing I have to a 'then' picture right now. The shot of me in the 4 generations picture is from last year, my hair is a little longer and I'm just a teenie, eensie tiny bit thinner now, HA! This story will have to do for now, it's 10:30 and I have to get up at 5:00. I'm getting tired, you don't want to see me tired, I get waaay weird. Get in touch if you feel like it.
