Carol's Story
Classmates.com is a great way to reconnect with friends and classmates from years gone by. Personally, I have found several old friends with whom I now e-mail to keep caught up on all the latest, especially from my schools and towns where I grew up.
My years began in Springfield, PA, then moved to Rutledge, PA when I was 9 years old.
The elementary schools I attended were St. Francis of Assisi and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in PA. I graduated from Notre Dame High School for Girls in Moylan, PA in l962.
After a brief month hiatus, I worked in center-city Philadelphia at the Insurance Company of North America (INA). Later I worked as a secretary in Springfield, PA for State Farm Insurance Company.
In l965 I moved to Ontario, Canada to visit my parents. I liked the town of Tillsonburg and decided to stay and work at Livingston Industries. It was there that I met my husband of 32 years. We raised 3 wonderful children and made many friends and travelled extensively.
Many of the years when I was married were spent as a volunteer at our local hospital, my church ladies' organization and PTA elementary school chair. Also, I worked part-time as a secretary at the Elemetary school which my 3 children attended. Best job I ever had.
My family and friends are very important to me. I still play cards with a group of 8 "girls" whom I have known for 38 years.
At present, I have 6 grandchildren: Kendra, Megan, Gabby, Charlotte, Spencer and Tyler. They are aged 7 and under. Most of all, I enjoy reading to my grandchildren. I visit them as often as I can and am an active and very proud Nana.
I now have my own home and a constant companion...an 11 yr. old French Toy Poodle named Joli'. My dog gives me exercise by walking her every day.
I have been retired since 1995 and having the time of my life......go anywhere I want...when I want. I have been to Paris, France twice to visit my youngest sister and happy times spent in Ocean City, NJ a...Expand for more
t the seaside with my sisters. I have been to Ocean City, MD also, where my brother has a condo.
As for my continuing education, after high school I attended St. Joseph's University night school taking English and French courses. Here in Ontario, I graduated from Fanshawe Business College, attended King's College (Univ. of Western Ontario.) for 2 years. I majored in English and also took courses in Religious Studies and Womens' Studies.
I love learning! Other courses I've taken for personal interest are: cabinetry, microwave cooking and a doll making course where I produced 3 porcelain dolls. The dolls were given as gifts to relatives who live in Europe.
I'm an avid beginner at photography as well. A few of my photos are posted here on Classmates.com. One that was particularily good I had framed and given as gifts to my family.
Music and dance will remain my life passions,. Reading, walking and creative cooking or watching one of my favorite TV shows is my way of relaxing.
I hope you enjoyed reading my story. Here's wishing you all a happy, healthy and blessed life.

As a generous and loving person
My first job was at INA, where I got paid 37.50/wk to learn from the bottom up. What I remember most about it is It worked...I got raises and promotions.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Duaine Griffith, because He was my first love.
That I can learn from them.
If I won $100 million, I'd give a lot of it to charity, then spend the rest on family, self and investments.
My current age is 64. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead.. lol. I was so completely wrong!.
My best friend would tell you I'm warm, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as snobbish.
I share my home with a man, which I find very different from me.
Trophies for what???? Cheerleading??
In 10 years, I hope to be married. I'm going to get there by being myself.
