Carol's Story
After high school, I went to SAIT in Calgary to study broadcasting. From there, I spent 32 years working in media; as a reporter, a news anchor, a producer and writer. My job took me across Canada, working for the CBC Radio and Television, CTV and APTN. As part of that, I have been privileged to receive numerous awards for excellence in broadcasting. I also received a National Aboriginal Achievement Award in 2007. My last media post was at CBC North based in Yellowknife, NWT.
I have 3 amazingly beautiful children - my oldest graduated from high school in 2012....Expand for more
The twins will be going into grade 11 now.
I left the media entirely when I moved back to Saskatchewan in 2009. I ran for the NDP in 2011 in the constituency of Moosomin. Although my bid was not successful, I always say I won the election. It is because of my political activity that I met my husband, Lyle Daniels. We married in Dec. 2012 and I have since changed my name to Carol Daniels.
I now work as a full time artist - which is what I always wanted to do.
And, oh yes, when I was a student at Sedley High School - my name was Carol Adams (my adopted name).
