Carol's Story
Life:
See Last Paragraph for information regarding the Class of 1981, 30th year Reunion being held next August in Smithtown.... anyway...
After graduating from HS & Wilson Tech in 1981, I lworked for Eaton Corp. Held a Secret Clearance there in Farmingdale on Long Island for 4 years before going into the US Navy. Moved to California in 1985, served the Navy for 3 years at Moffett Field in Northern California (Silicon Valley). Got married in 1989 (yes, the October weekend of the Loma Prieta Earthquake - yes, the earth shook). Did a little Reserve time in the Navy Reserves and then after 2 years, I transferred into the Air Force Reserves and continued serving our country at Travis AFB, (also in Northern California, between Sacramento & San Francisco). Stayed married for 9 years, had 3 girls, alot of pets, and was divorced in 1998. I've remained single since then.
Owned a few businesses over the years, and was also the Founder and Director of a Non-Profit Christian Youth Recreation Club. I got out of the service in 1991 when I started having children. 17 years later the kids are well into their teens and I went back into the military part time as a Navy Reservist at first and transferred "again" into the Air Force Reserves where I am currently a drilling Reservist 1 weekend per month and 2 weeks per year as a Logistics Planner.
Saw a completely different military the second time around. Much has changed over the decades in between the eras I serviced in. Computers and technology really changed the face of every branch of service. I was always in Logistics in one way, shape or form. But when the Navy became too hard to advance rank in, I made the switch the second time around to the Air Force again.
Travel:
Over the years I traveled from NY to California where I settled and never returned to my home state. I went to Hawaii, Adak Alaska, Moffett Field, Alameda, CA Norfolk VA, the Phillipines, Yakota Japan, Hong Kong China, Aviano AFB Italy, (those were spots I hit while in the service). Vacation spots I visited on 3 Royal Carribean Cruises were Jamaica, Haiti, Grand Cayman and 4 tourist spots in Mexico (Cancun, Cabo, Mazatlan, Puerto Villarta). I love to travel. Often now a days, I like to visit other states at whim by flying free "Space A" in the miltiary. My other vehicle seems to be a C-17 (hahahaha).

s over the years that were DoD affiliated (Government Contracting agencies). I played softball with the folks from NASA last summer season in the Silicon Valley. I commuted 2 hours to and from work everyday, but it was fine. During my commute hours I took all my course work (DVD Studies/Exams) in Christian Counseling. So now, I am a certified Christian Life Coach with an Advanced Diploma in that. I counsel Individuals, Couples, Families and Teens as a part time venture, and love it. I am 5 classes away from my BS degree in Psychology with Liberty University (distance learning curriculm) - they are based in Virgina, and that's wayyy too far to commute to. :)
I also achieved my AS degree from the Community College of the Air Force (it should be awarded to me next month). So the college route has been an ongoing venture for me for the passed 30 years. But at least I never stopped going for very long. 3 babies seemed to get in the way, but I went back as they grew more independent. Plus I've been a single Mom for the past 13-years.
I enjoy dancing, watching live music, comedy, keeping my kids safe, happy & healthy. Love to travel (my girls love it too). I love serving the Lord as a Christian Coach. The name of my private practice is "The Mind ReAligned". Realigning oneself with what is right and good and shedding bad habits is key to successful relationships across the board, so I felt that it was an appropriate name for my practice.
I'm quite content with life as I live it to the fullest everyday. Eventually, it would be nice to get remarried, but I do not dwell on that. I've come greatly accustomed to an independent lifestyle.

30-Year Reunion:
Oh, plans are underway for the Deer Park High School Class of 1981 30-year reunion. Please contact me if you want to be placed on the mailing list. The date reserved is August 13, 2011 at the Sheraton Long Island in Smithtown. I am the coordinator for this event with the help of Reunions of America.
