Carole's Story
After graduation I went to St Xavier College and enrolled in the nursing program. Right after sophomore year I met my husband to be (on a blind date), and we got married the summer between junior and senior year. My first job out of college was at St.Francis hospital in Blue Island. Then I went on to teach nursing at Moraine Valley , worked for a staffing agency and in a few Dr.'s offices. In 1978 we adopted a baby boy from the Cradle and in 1982 we adopted a baby girl (also from the Cradle.)We lived around 83rd and Kedzie for twelve years and in 1985 moved to Lemont,IL. after 21years of marriage and countless infertility problems, I found myself pregnant(we were not trying) and had a second daughter in June of 1993. What a surprise! In 2002, coming home from one of our wonderful trips out west we were in an awful accident and my husband was killed. He was the "Love" of my life and I miss him enormously every day. My house is still full though because my son got divorced and moved back home. My older daughter had a baby boy in 2007 and has moved back in and I still have a teenage daughter to remind me that I am the nerd/geek that I was at OLCHS. Would love to reconnect with old friends if only so they could help me remember those days.
