Carolyn's Story

Life Did not finish college on my first go round...weren't the 70's fun? Straightened up, went to Shoreline for my nursing degree. Have rather enjoyed the flexability of being a nurse..it's soup to nuts any given day. Bought my parents' home on 52nd in 77. Enjoyed being single for a LONG time. Married at 41 which turned out to be too late for my "ticking clock" but then we were able to adopt a baby girl thru an "open adoption" at 44. I am about to turn 50...she'll be 6, 4 days later (Yes there are times when I wonder what the heck I did but that describes marriage on any given day too...doesn't it?) Not sure if she keeps me younger or if I have more patience now than earlier, but I sure am thankful she happened. Her birthmother is in Al...Expand for more
abama, our "open adoption" is as if we adopted both "girls". Sure seems more humane than Sealed Records. Cassie and I want to adopt again..she needs a sibling..my husband is still in the "thinking" stage. Have been lucky to only work very part time while she is young. Have shot and stitched several "Lynx" at the Northgate Grouphealth clinic over the last 6 or 7 years...Mrs Robare,Mr Delahanty, Mr Helgeson (where was that rusty needle when I needed it? Ha)Heard Homer Davis' name called for pharmacy a couple years back(wasn't he a day younger than God back in the 60's?). Cheri Birket George and Margie McKenzie Maffin and I keep in close contact.( Margaret lives in Vermont) And I am enjoying this web site...glad it is here Carolyn
