Carolyn Lawrence:  

I had to have most of my right lung removed. Then 6 months later, I had to go on oxygen fulltime which I wasn't happy about, but it's just another bump in my road of life. Then in 2014 life through another curve! Russ and I had spent January and February in Kona, Hawaii where we loved to go and we got home on March 2 in a blizzard so I'd told Russ we should go for 3 months next year. He didn't think so. Exactly one month later on April 2, Russ unexpectedly passed away from what they call the Widow Maker's heart attack. I thank the Lord that he didn't have a stroke and linger as he would have been the world's worst patient and I thank the Lord that he was still at the Lumber yard where he'd stop to purchase some frog tape and he wasn't back on the road and possibly have killed someone else. Things have worked out well and we had talked long before he passed about moving to Liberty to be closer to our daughter and also closer to a major hospital (North Kansas City) in the event I had problems and we couldn't get to Mayo's fast enough. Russ, supposedly was in great shape, according to a physical he'd had at Mayo's the previous November, but God has His own timing. I am now moved to Liberty and think I will love it. I just have a lot of boxes yet to unpack and get organized, but it will happen. My daughter and grandsons have been especially helpful in this venture of getting me moved.
