Carolyn's Story
After graduating from Phillips U. in 1966, I joined the National Park Service and worked at Colonial Historical National Park in Virginia, There I met and Married C. Edward Knight,III who was then a Park Ranger while attending Marshall Wythe School of Law at William and Mary. During that time I taught school. He was then in the US Army for 5 years. During the year of his tour in VietNam, I lived in Enid with my parents. We had one daughter then. I may have seen some of you while in Enid. We then returned to Virginia and settled in Hampton.We then had a son. Ed began a private law practice and became active in the community, serving on the City Council 8 years. lected to be a Judge in Hampton General District Court. During that time, I continued to work at various jobs, working with Learning Disability children and then was the director of a week day school (pre-school) for 9 years. I have been active in Daughters of the American Revolution, Methodist Church Women, the Woman's Club of Hampton and a local Garden Club. I now work in a gift shop which specializes in Virginia made items and foods, called The Virginia Store. Ed passed away in January 2011. Our daughter lives nearby, is a High School Librarian and director of the children's music program at our church. She and her husband have one son, who just completed his Eagle Scout project and will be a High School Senior. Our son is married with two sons 7 & 9 year olds.
