Carrie's Story
Personal Philosophy:
There are three truths I have learned since opening myself to channeling and living a full life.
1. Follow your heart. Do what you want to do. Wear the clothes you want, listen to what you want...do the things that make you feel right. Do what you love...don't let a job or degree or lack of one define you. Don't let bad experiences become who you are...follow your heart beyond it all.
2. Enjoy the moment...find ways to enjoy everything even the things that seem bad. Even bad moments want to be loved, everything ugly wants to be loved. Some of my most powerful memories of love were spent in the ER with my son SATing at 87 and retracting into his spine. I held him, sang to him and told him about all my adventures in life. He liked the ones about Alaska!
3. Speak your truth. People may not respond well and will do everything they can to take you out and shut your truth down. It seems to happen to me everyday. They will cause problems between you and someone you love to shut you down. These people never win in the long run because truth is like hope...it always floats up!
Life
I live in Utah right now with my husband, my 2 yr old boy/girl twins(Colby Amadeus and Carlee Astrid), my sweet dog (Mooky), 2 cats (Kahlo/Sandia) and fish(Hope/Faith/Love/Joy). My husband is in the Air Force so we move a lot. Been everywhere from Nebraska to Alaska (I miss Alaska). He is the MEPS commander in SLC right now. We live on base and enjoy living as a military family with other military families.
Colby and Carlee were my IVF miracles after 12 years of trying to have a baby. They were born prematurly(32 wks) in October 06. We spent close to 6 wks in the NICU and 130 days in the hospital with Colby in his first 15 months. It has been a wonderfully difficult journey. So many lesson learned and insights that seem crazy to others. Colby has died on me 5 times so life with a toddler with that kind of experience surpasses any I could explain. He is so spiritual at this young age that it amazes me. He loves race cars and I fear he always will want to go fast!! He loves to watch NASCAR so I think I am going to change his name to Speed Racer. He is such a MAMMA'S BOY! Carlee is my little cheerleader (those of you who remember me would think she was my clone). She loves being a girl and is so helpful and nuturing. She is happy go lucky and lov'n life. She is very agile and adores animals...she is going to be the kid who brings home every stray or injured animal she finds. So to sum it up-Speed is my sunshine on a cloudy day and Miss Carlee is my second star to the right....they are my happy thought and what gets me thru all things...the miracle on the other side of each battle! My husband is the only thing that keeps all of us anchored to the earth...couldn't do it...Expand for more
without him or his love.
As for my life. . . I try to take advantage of new opportunities and experiences everywhere we live. Currently, I am Spiritual & Life Coach to include a Reiki practioner and spiritual channeler...something I think I can stay with because I believe so much in it. My children's health issues lead me to alternative healing and now I heal others. I do spiritual readings and healing as well. It is humbling to help people in that way.
Currently, I work in a bookshop in Park City, Utah where I live. I do spiritual readings, cleansings and workshops. I have my own business called Twin Stars Spiritual Life Coaching and Readings. I love to do parties. Nothing like working with a new bride...they are so full of HOPE, its refreshing.
I finished my BS at the Universty of Nebraska and earned an MS in counseling while living in Alaska (I really miss Alaska!). I am trained as a counselor and love helping people in need. I have worked with the American Red Cross as both paid staff and a volunteer, Family Support Centers as a career counselor and volunteer coordinator. I spent time in China doing research on the One Child Policy. I tried teaching High School for a while but my heart wasn't in it. I really wanted to work in wellness and health.
School
I have to say my biggest crush was Andrew Ramon. He didn't go to SHS and we dated on and off for 6 years. The other would have been my boyfriend in middle school, Tino.
Mr Perry inspired me the most. He was a great teacher!!!
I don't know if I would do it all again. That would mean going through those really hard teen years and lessons. If I did get the chance to do it again (knowing what I know now) I think I would have gotten into trouble more and not cared so much about what people thought. I would have lived a little more, like I do now. I would have been more passionate about my own interests.
Workplace
I have done a lot of volunteer work over the years. I was awarded the Air Force Excellence Volunteer award for my work with the Red Cross. Eventually, my volunteer work became a paying job with the American Red Cross, Armed Forces Emergency Services. I really loved the work but I knew if I stayed employed much longer I would be up for a deployment. I think I would have liked going on a deployment but decided that it was too difficult to be as deployable (if not more so)than my husband. We never knew who was going where and when---it was stressful. So, I went to grad school instead to become a counselor and found work on base at the Family Support Center as a career counselor and volunteer coordinator. I had a lot of fun! I use to teach aerobics, Yoga and Pilates classes part time and I still do volunteer work in my field to keep up my skills. I love working at the wellness center!!!
