Caryn's Story
My Life
I'm working in Roseville, CA as a senior business consultant for a quality assurance consulting firm. My current project is a statewide welfare automation project.
And my newest adventure is in portrait photography. My friend Stella and I launched Eikon Photography a couple years ago and it has since grown to be a little business we are both proud of. We love to shoot kids out on location, especially one-on-one where we can capture the true beauty of being a kid, playing outdoors! We also shoot high school seniors and have a ball out there treating them like stars for a day. Find us at eikonphotography dot com.
Life Leading Up to Now
I had been working as a Project Manager in Italy until just after September 11th when the world changed. We lost my favorite Uncle Nick, a NY City firefighter who was on scene when the WTC came down.
About that same time, I met the man I would soon marry and decided it was more fun to be home in the US, spending time with him hiking and skiing! Matt and I married in July 2002. And our first addition, Logan James, was born on April 6, 2004! We then introduced Lauryn Michelle in August of 2005 and then Chase Matthew on April 26, 2007.
We live in El Dorado County, just east of Sacramento which is close enough to Sonora to get "home" and see my 9 nieces and nephews (Cori has 3 kids, Dean has 2, James has 2 with one on the way and my sister-in-law Kelly has two!) but far enough away that it ...Expand for more
still feels like a vacation when we get there!
Drop me a note as I would love to get in touch with you again. Who knows, maybe we can share notes or skip class if you're in town!
School
It's a good thing I had a twin sister in school. Otherwise moving 14 times to 7 different schools before heading off to college would have REALLY been a drag! Nothing like being the new kid every other year... like puberty and the awkward stages weren't odd enough, right?!
College
My first roommate, Rupa, was a riot! She still is. What fun we had with our new found "freedom!" Good thing our other roommate Kim went home before she could jack up our phone bill any further and before any more arguments about what was hers and what was ours could break out. (Not to mention, then we got a 3-person room to ourselves!)
Krissy was the quiet girl downstairs who became the best of friends over late night coffee and trips around the world. And who can forget the trouble Nate and I got into when we told the dorm they could paint the 3 lounges in a pizza party contest! While they looked AWESOME, Gail just didn't find that humorous whatsoever!
Then we had Rebecca Romijn who didn't want to participate in our modeling segment in our annual talent contest... how dare she make millions modeling everywhere else! (You know, she never did pay her $10 dorm dues. I still have the records!) What a fun few years college turned out to be! Thanks for the memories.
