Cassandra's Story
Life
In some areas, my life is coming along, and in other areas there could be some improvement. Overall, I am a pretty happy person right now, and I can only hope things will continue to fall into place for the future, as long as my own nerves don't get in the way. I hope that things become more certain in the next few weeks so that all this nervous tension and waiting will pay off.
College
After a long saga of 3 changes in my major, roommate and sorority drama, dropping out, and then transferring after 3 years off, I finally graduated in December 2011. I now have my B.A. in English and Paralegal Studies.
Career
I started a new position recently and am closing in on the end of my 90-day probationary period. I've gained a lot of experience in the areas of probate/estate planning, guardianships, and trust administration, so I find myself doing that for a small law firm on the east side of Cleveland. I had held a similar position in Warren, but that only lasted 6 months as it was just not going to work out long-term. In the Cleveland area, job-hunting is a lot like house-hunting, as in location is EVERYTHING to them. Fortunately I found a firm that did not give me too much trouble about driving the long distance, and hopefully I can save up enough to make the move soon.
Romance

(although I had my fair share of offers long before that), and I can best describe my love life as a work in progress; I learn my lessons from my failed relationships, and I do a little better the next time around. I have now been with my current boyfriend since December 2010, and he is pretty wonderful for the most part. He's not without his share of problems, but overall, he is an old-fashioned, hard-working, honest, intelligent, driven, loving, and faithful man, and he has not only said that I am priceless, he backs it up with the way he treats me. I keep joking with him that because of my past patterns, he has to make it to "almost 3" years with me, and then I'll marry him lol. But seriously, I can see myself building a life with him, marrying him, and raising a family with him.
As of this update we are at the "almost 3" year marker, and our relationship could use an honest assessment to see if there is a real future here. I sense that we are both dissatisfied in some way; I think his personal hang-ups are getting to him, and I feel very ignored and lonely sometimes when we're right next to each other. A good long serious talk is definitely in order.
The Old Days
I hope everyone remembers me as one of the smart kids. I know I wasn't very outgoing; part of it was shyness, and the other part was complicated. Everybody who did talk to me would know that I was actually a very funny, easy-going chick lol.
