Life
So happy to be here to reconnect with old classmates from years ago.
I am still single (never married) and am loving it. I think I have an independent streak that keeps me from committing in a relationship or I just haven't found Mr. Right yet. Anyway, I enjoy time with friends and family.
I have a 14 year old cat by the name of Rudy that I tell people is my son. I have been so blessed to have him in my life. He is the sweetest and most lovable cat I have ever been around.
I work in the Biotech Industry and have done so for the last 18 years. Working with lab folks has been an enjoyable experience. They are just the nicest people to be around.
I have very fond memories of Helix and enjoyed my 4 years there. Being a letter carrier (e) in the band was a blast. Also of the many elementary schools I went to I have very fond memories of Pontoosucc Elementary School in Pittsfield, MA (1964 or 65 to 1967). I think about Pittsfield often and hope to get back there one day for a visit. I miss the small town atmosphere that I enjoyed so much as a kid. Workplace
During and after college I worked in administration as an office professional. In 1985 I started work for a company called Mycogen (Ag Biotech Co.) where I worked for 15 years and thoroughly enjoyed it. I started out as Secretary/Receptionist and worked myself up to Executive Assistant for the Regulatory Affairs Executive V.P. Mycogen was filled with allot of hard-working yet fun people to work with. It is probably the only company I have ever worked in that we all felt like a family instead of co-workers. We really did things as a team. In 1999 Dow Chemical bought Mycogen and changed things forever. I left in the summer of 2000 to work for a company called ValiGen that went under after the 9/11 attacks. The company I am in now is a spinoff of ValiGen called Cibus Genetics. We are another Ag. Biotech. company trying to make it with 15 employees. I am the Administrative Manager reporting to the President. I am in charge of all Administrative work, Human Resources, Benefits Administration, and Lab Notebooks. It can be a challenging job at times but enjoyable.
