Catherine's Story
Life
I spent 8 years going to CU-Denver, some of that part-time and some of it full-time, finally ending up with a degree in Marketing.
During that time, I was called to church work, and took a full time job as Liturgist and Music Director at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Golden. When that job ended, I was fortunate to get hired by IRS in the Taxpayer Service Division and later in the Information Systems Division.
I got married in 1989 and had two children, in 1991 and 1993, and we moved to Canon City, Colorado in 1993. I worked for 9 years as the Liturgist and Music Director at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Florence.
I loved the next 3 years as a reporter for the Canyon Current Newspaper, a weekly publication, covering religion, cooking, education, and other local interest stories. My sister-in-law and I also started a publishin...Expand for more
g company, Mean Mommy Publishing, and we are doing very well.
I now am the school secretary at Garden Park High School, the alternative high school in our district. It is the greatest job I have had. I am working on a Master's Degree in English at CSU-Pueblo, going to class a couple of night a week and doing lots of homework.
I was the editor of a local quarterly magazine, Canon Living, and still keep pretty busy with freelance writing and photographing. I served for a while on the Board of Directors for our local theater group, and participate in community theater whenever I get the chance. I have been in Nunsense, Godspell, Spoon River Anthology, and The Sound of Music over the years.
My children, Daisy and Patrick, are growing up and having fun - they are 18 and 16 years old. My husband, Dave, is a Deputy District Attorney in Pueblo.
