Catherine's Story
OK--Finally got out of Middlebury in '74, and joined a group of courageous, idealistic (not to say crazy) women trying to crack the ranks of the Roman Catholic priesthood. Received the M.Div. from Weston Jesuit School of Theology in 1978. Spent a year working in various part-time ministries--a prison, a rehab hospital, a retreat center, and a parish adult education program--before moving to Georgia in '79. I worked as a lay campus minister at the University of Georgia from '79-'84, took a year off to determine my next direction, spent a year studying Religion and Literature at the Graduate Institut...Expand for more
e of Liberal Arts at Emory before landing at the University of Georgia, where I met my husband and finished my Ph.D. (in that order).
We've been married 16 years and have two adopted kids, Tommy, 15, and Sabrina, 13 (as of 3/13/08; they grow). We also have two dogs, six cats, five gerbils, a fish, and a frog.
My husband is an assistant D.A. in the Chatham County District Attorney's office (that's Savannah, GA) and I teach English at Savannah State University. In my spare (?) time I sing with a chamber choir called I Cantori and write poetry. I've published a little online, not so much in print.
