Cathie's Story

Life My husband Vince and I had insurance agencies in San Diego, CA and Tacoma, WA, but he died young of a rare heart disease in 1982. In 1984 I was recruited by a developer to sell condominiums in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and on a lark I went. I was in real estate for years but then decided to get into insurance again and am proud to say that I passed my Mexican insurance exams in both personal and commercial lines in Spanish and passed them all the first time. Jan. 2008 I moved to Las Cruces, NM for a (recycled romance that turned out to be a disaster) then escaped to Scottsdale, AZ in 2011, loved it there but missed Mexico so moved back to Cabo in 2019 and my intention is to stay here permanently. I'm a member of the Los Cabos Rotary Club with a focus on education for underprivileged children, and a social women's group called the Cabo Tomatoes just for fun. I was a founding member of the annual SKHS 60s reunion picnic which was born out of a margarita soaked lunch with a few friends from the classes of '64 & '65 at the Puerto Vallarta Restaurant in Port Orchard back in 1999.. The group still meets every summer, but I only go...Expand for more
every several years now. I love to hear from old friends and neighbors so let me know if you're coming to Cabo! Schools I was born in Shelton, Washington and attended Evergreen Elementary School grades 1-2-3 and 5. I attended Lincoln Elementary for 4th grade-I don't know why they sent some of us there that year but i remember how pretty the maple leaves were in the fall! We lived on a farm in Mason County that is now a small housing development and the road is named after my family, Ryan Road. Back then it was 5 miles out highway 101 on the way to Olympia but driving by in recent years it seems shorter now. We moved to Port Orchard and I attended Givens Elementary School, Marcus Whitman Jr. High and South Kitsap High School, married young, had one son, and finished my education in California. I have lived in San Diego, CA, Cabo San Lucas, BCS Mexico, Las Cruces, NM, Scottsdale AZ, and now back to Cabo.. I collect clowns, jesters and harlequins and love black cats. I have two; Coco Dos and Tresi (Coco III). My first Coco is waiting for me on the Rainbow Bridge. I hope she has a long wait! And that's about it!
