Cathy (Catherine)'s Story
Life
I have five kids;all but one are married. I have five grandkids. My children are dispersed throughout the U.S.
I have a pet, a rat terrier.
I consider my permanent home El Paso, Texas. I'm in South Carolina now working. I plan on retiring within three years or earlier if Bush screws up the social security system!
My ideal retired life would be to spend a couple of months with each of my children during the course of the year.
College
I remember the cafeteria when I was studying to be a nurse in New York. My wonderful hall-mates and I would always meet to partake of meals together. Thank you Kathy, Jocelyn, and rest in peace, Sue.
I also remember our summer vacations to the shore together, be it Ham...Expand for more
pton Beach, New Hampshire, or Ocean Grove, New Jersey. What great times they were! And if any of the old boyfriends read this like John H., George B., Jack S. and others, thank you for providing me with some wonderful memories!
Workplace
I went from pediatric nursing to teaching elementary, and currently, middle school. However, most of my teaching career has been at the Junior College or University level. I stopped nursing when I got married in 1967, and found a new career in education. Working with kids has always been my thing.
Military
I'm a Peacenik, so I would encourage young men and women NOT to sign up, especially now. I think your lives are much more valuable than the current Administration's greed!
