Cathy's Story
My life thus far:
After high school, I worked in the retail industry for a few years while trying to “find myself” and “figure out life”. From retail, I went on to get my teaching degree from the University of San Deigo and taught for 16 years. Worked full time and retired from Downey High School. Loved every minute of it.
In the middle of all that I met the love of my life, Bill Bobbitt. We married in 1975. I stayed happily married to him until he passed and went home to be with the Lord in 2018. He was the love of my life, my soul mate and my best friend. And, was probably the only person in the whole world that could have put up with me for all those years.
When we retired, we moved up to beautiful Oregon.
I have a son who lives in Oregon with two of my granddaughters. One of which is stationed in Italy with the Air Force. Another granddaughter is getting college credits while going to high school and will graduate with an AA. Then on to bigger and better things for her.
We also adopted a girl who I currently live with here in HOT SoCal. We mo...Expand for more
ved back down here from Oregon so she could help me take care of Bobbitt (what the grandkids and everyone called him). I am living with my daughter, her husband and my three grandchildren: two girls and a boy. The oldest granddaughter is in middle school, the middle granddaughter is in 5th grade and my one and only grandson is in kindergarten. Lots of fun, lots of surprises and a LOT of controlled chaos.
My recommendation: everyone should have grandchildren.
I have had a wonderfully blessed, busy, fun and exciting life with my family. We went square dancing, tried every ethnic food we came across, had family game nights, movie nights, camping, and traveled. Bobbitt and I bought motorcycles and joined a motorcycle ministry club, which kept us very involved in the biker community. Very much a highlight of our lives.
I am now living the next chapter of my life and look forward to continuing to do so with all my grandchildren. I want to expose them to how wonderful and fulfilling our lives can be when we choose to have a life of service to others.
