Cathy's Story
Life
After I graduated from WHS, I went to Fort Lewis College for 2 years and then transferred to Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX. It is a small, private Baptist School. I graduated from there with a B.A. in Psychology. I returned to Colorado Springs for 2 years and worked in a ministry. I moved back to TX (Fort Worth) and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a M.A. I am married and have a wonderful son, Jordan, age 20, born in 1988. He is a student at Clemson University (Go Tigers!) & another son, Christopher, age 4, whom we are adopting. Christopher came to be part of our family in February, 2006. He is a joy! My husband is an associate pastor (Children) at Restoration Church International, Gaffney, SC, an interdenominational church, after being children's pastor for 13 years at Restoration Church in Spartanburg. ssed. I have been married 25 years (can't believe I am this old!) I am involved in the ministry with my husband at the Gaffney church on Sundays. I homeschooled Jordan for 10 years and he went to high school at Spartanburg Christian Academy. We love life here in SC, even though I miss the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. I do not like the hot humid summers, but the mild winters are nice. If we want to see mountains, we can drive up to the Blue Ridge Mountains, an hour away or the Smokey's, about 3 hours away. We live 4 hours from Myrtle Beach and Washington DC is about 8 hours away. It is a nice place to live and raise kids. My sister, Suzanne, is in Atlanta -3 hours away and I get to see her often. My brother, Larry, lives in Kansas City with his wife and son. Would love to hear from anyone or come see us if you are in the Southeast!
