Cormier Family Update
The Cormier family has had a couple of very eventful years (2005-2006)!
Last year, Sean was married to Amber Kirchoffer, his sweetheart of several years. They were blessed with a bouncing baby boy, Alexavier James Cormier late November. Sean had been hurt on the job and underwent an ACL repair surgery in December, making it possible for both Dad and Mom to bond with their newborn son. Alexavier is keeping his parents very busy as he started to walk before his first birthday and is constantly on the run!
We had a surprise 75th birthday party in El Paso, TX, for "my" mom 30October 05 (her birthday is actually 31October). All of her daughters attended, as well as most of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rick made an incredible video from pictures with highlights of her life to music, giving mom and each of the sisters copies. It was a fun and awesome reunion!
Jenny moved into an apartment in February06 and wound up falling in love and marrying Bart Henderson, who was always there helping her. They married in Las Vegas in August, with Dad (Rick) and Dwayne (her 10 year old son) walking her down the aisle. She made a beautiful bride! Grandma and most of her maternal aunts were able to attend her wedding. Dwayne is ecstatic as he has a dad who reciprocates his love and treats him as his own. They are expecting an addition to their family (whom Dwayne dubbed as ÂJelly Bean after viewing the first ultrasound - I thought "Pinto...Expand for more
Bean!", but that didn't fly with Jen) towards the end of January/early February. HeÂs going to be a big brother at last!
Rick and I went on our first cruise ever, to Alaska in July06 with RickÂs sister Joan and her husband Ray. We did at least one tour at each port we docked at. One of our tours was a three mile hike up the ÂChilkoot Trail and down river in a raft! We had a great time both in port and out to sea, and learned that if you take the stairs instead of the elevator, you will burn off some of the wonderful food that is offered during the cruise!
During RickÂs last deployment, he was offered a supervisory position which we decided to take. From the time he was offered the job to the time of our move 14October06, was just under two months. Rick and I currently reside in an apartment (which is next to a wonderful walking trail) in Songtan, a suburb of Pyongtaek-city in South Korea. We plan on taking tours which are offered through the base, and possibly touring other nearby countries as well. We are adjusting to life here and getting reacquainted. November we celebrated our 29th anniversary and plan on renewing our wedding vows in 2007 year.
Thank you for allowing us to share our lives with you. We hope that you all have a Very Blessed New Year.
College
Although I would have graduated in 1994 from De Anza Community College, I only attended for one year. I returned to work fulltime until May of 1993,then moved to Panama, RPR until October of 1994.
