Catherine's Story
So, my Life Story in a nutshell:
I was called Cathy when I went to high school. When I was 22 I asked people to call me Cate. It took a few years for that to catch on with my family members, but most of my friends took to it quickly. I still go by that but I used Catherine as my Classmates Moniker since that is my full first name. I don't mind being called Catherine, I use it at work, but most people still call me Cate now. I really really do not like being called Cathy though.
I went to Everett High in my freshman year. I moved away halfway through the year to Eastern Washington, Pasco to be exact, where I attended Stevens Junior High (and yes, I did get teased for having the same last name as the school) We moved back to Everett over the summer and I went to Mariner High in my Sophomore year., then moved yet again during the summer and ended up back at Everett High for my Junior year. I added Cascade High as a community because I had a few friends who went to that school, though I never attended it myself

upport myself. I got married young and had my first child at the tender age of 18 in 1980. I had another child in 1984 at the age of 22. I decided after he was born that I wanted to have a better life for all of us and decided to go back to school. I attended Everett Community college and graduated within a year with high honors on my high school diploma. Pretty good for a high school drop out. I took the summer off and then went back to Evcc where I worked my way towards an AA degree majoring in Drafting. I ended up single during that time but still managed to achieve that goal while raising two kids by myself and working part time while attending college full time.
After I graduated, I got a job as a drafter for Boeing Commercial Airplanes where I still work today. I reached my 20th anniversary there in February, 2009.
In the intervening years, I remarried and had another child, a girl, in 1993. My husband died in 1998 so I have been raising her by myself since she was 5.
I am involved in a fairly serious relationship right now with a pretty great guy. He has been a rock for me and has made life's journey a little easier.
