Celia's Story

Hi fellow Hayfork graduates! I married 1 year out of High School...silly girl! Lived in Monterey, CA (Close to my birthing place), and started school towards my nursing degree while working. Husband was stationed at Fort Ord in the Army. One year of marriage and SURPRISE! (Baby on the way!) Wasn't in the "cards" for either one of us, so at 5-months pregnant my husband decided he was in love with someone else and I moved to a shelter-home to have my/our baby. I picked myself up for her sake and began schooling again while working full time....moved back to Redding area. Paying bills was a necessity so school was put on hold for awhile so I could raise my daughter and have a decent place to live. Was working in a residential care facility since my daughter was 6-months-old where I met my future husband. After dating for 3 years, ( my daughter Lauren was almost 4) we married and I took a leave of abscence from work to spend some quality time with Lauren and try to comple...Expand for more
te my nursing degree. My husband, Mike, adopted Lauren when she was 6, soon after we had our 1st son. We have now been married for 19 years and have 2 sons and our daughter, Lauren. (she is now 22-years-old and engaged to be married). I am currently in my 6th consecutive year of school...(still working on that degree!) I have been working for a local hospital, in Redding, for 16 years. I work on Labor/Delivery and watch many of our fellow classmates have children of their own...and even grandchildren now! I am eligible to apply for the nursing program next semester....wish me luck! I also continue to sing...I have taken part in a few recordings, usually for charity or group projects. I continue to play/sing in local musicals, church projects and music for special occasions. I won a top ten place in an international talent search...."Do Good Music" where my music was recorded and sold in 1997. That's it in a nutshell.....love to hear from you all. CeCe (Guinn) Snell
