year off and went to Japan. The plan was to study language, music and art for a year. You know what happens to plans, right? So here I am in Tokyo, with a husband and three grown up kids--even a grand child. Yes, time flies. At long last I am enjoying making music (Okinawa sanshin) and trying my hand at art (really crummy water colors). It is so much fun! When I'm being serious, I write. So far I have one non-fiction book and one novel ("Katsuren, An Okinawa Love Story") written and published. Think my childhood self would believe all that would happen? Probably not, but truth is often stranger than fiction.
