Chad's Story
Life
After high school I attended a (very expensive!!) private college and ended up at ISU. I played soccer for the school until an injury sent me to take up golf as a primary sport. I originally went to school to be a doctor, but sitting in high school graduation and thinking, 'I'm only half way done with school', that path was doomed. I currently hold degrees in English and German.
I struck out to be a writer after college, but soon found that in order to be a writer and eat, I would have to sell out to technology and become a technical writer, which I still claim as a profession today. I was extremely fortunate to get on with a software startup in its infancy in the 90's. I was employee #6. ee years.
After getting my stock vested, I returned to Chicago and got a really nice place in Lincoln Park. About a year later the phone rang, and three of the original six guys from the first startup were branching out and starting their own business, and asked me if I wanted 'to do it again'. So off I was to AZ once again to help get the new company off the ground. I currently live in Barrington, IL, and work as a technical writing consultant.
School
High School - was there ever a better time? Part time work/full time fun/honors classes without having to study. Driving like an idiot in a sportscar I paid cash for. Oh, the good ol' days! Of course the settlement from getting hit by a drunk driver helped finance this largely carefree lifestyle!
Workplace
After helping launch two successful software startups in the '90s, I've been working as a consultant.
