Chad's Story

After High School, Chad retired from working as a Lead Dairy Hand and pursued industry. In July '92, he was hired by Marcon Coatings in Owatonna as a Utility Trainer. Over the coarse of ten years and the company being bought out by Viracon, he worked his way up the ladder. Gaining knowledge by working different departments and shifts, he became a Line Leader in the Coatings Department. At the same time, his ambitions ventured into starting his own business, and in the Fall of '99, he established Chad Walker-Lawn and Snow. The business grew and in '01, he opened offices in Kenyon and Blooming Prairie. In July '02, Chad left Viracon and pursued his business full time. After costing him a relationship, Chad returned to Kenyon in April '03 to focus on raising his now three small children as a single dad, At the same time, closing his Blooming Prairie office to better serve his Kenyon area customers. As of 2017, Chad is still going strong with providing Lawn Care/Snow Removal services to the Kenyon, Nerstrand, Faribault, and West Concord areas. In addition, he has added three more children to his family since 2006. (What a handful! Lol). In his spare time Chad enjoys family time with his kids, restoration of antique farm implements, movies and tv shows. Favs include; Lee Van Cleef & Clint Eastwood movies, (any old time to present westerns in general). The Walking Dead, Expidition Unknown, Ice Road Truckers, Paranormal Lockdown, Ghost Adventures, and pretty much anything paranormal. If anyone remembers from high school, Chad was all about music. Long hair, leather jacket, Heavy Metal music. Big fan of Black Label Society. Pretty much the same, but find myself getting older and listening to some of the old country m...Expand for more
usic my dad enjoyed while he was alive. Including Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr, Johnny Cash, and Kris Christopherson. Looking back on the last 25years, I've seen a lot, experienced even more, and had to grow up fast and took responsibility by the horns. My favorite song is by Waylon Jennings on the Waylon Forever album and later remixed by his son on the Shooter Jennings album Fenixon, called "Outlaw S#*t". Both versions, if not all three, are very unique and awesome in their own right! This song was originally done in the 70's on the Outlaws-Wanted album with Waylon Jennings entitled ,"Don't You Think This Outlaw Bit's Gotten Outta Hand". In the lyrics of this song, I can and always have been able to relate to being hassled by the law. In one instance, in '96, while living in Owatonna, my girlfriend and I had a fight, so I went out for a pack of cigarettes and on my way through town, I was boxed in by 8 squad cars and had over 20 guns aimed at me as I was asked to slowly exit my truck. As I did what I what they told me, I was face planted into the street and handcuffed. Turns out that my vehicle matched the description of a drive bye in Mankato earlier that night. After my alibi checked out I was released outta of cuffs and told," You're a lucky sob, we thought we'd have to shoot ya!" And I replied," The reaper hasn't got me yet!" So if you listen to the song, it's so relatable to be profiled and overly excessed with force and blown way outta purportion. Anyway, before this turns into a novel, I just wanna say, "I miss the old days, all my friends, and invite anyone to drop a few lines and say howdy and tell me what ya been up to all this time". It'd be interesting. Until then, addios, amigos!
