Charisse's Story
Life
I am a breast cancer survivor!! After being diagnosed in April of 2002, I went through it all, chemo, surgery, radiation, and reconstruction, but currently am feeling great and walk 4-5 miles four to five times a week, either outside or on a treadmill in the winter. My hobbies include ice skating, counted cross-stitch, and the theater (my favorite is Phantom of the Opera).
After graduation, I got a job at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. In 1982, I met my husband, Todd, who was working at the company next door to mine. We started dating in 1983 and got married on May 4, 1985. I was blessed with two sons (despite ...Expand for more
having four miscarriages), born in June 1989 (Brandon) and December 1991 (Tyler). I quit work to raise them but held "odd" jobs throughout the years. I sold Discovery Toys, worked getting advertising for a local free newspaper, and did payroll and invoices for a business my husband started in 1995, TNT Detailing. Much of my time went into volunteering through the PTO at their schools, where I was President for three years at the elementary level and two years at the Jr. High School. I currently work at the Ohio State University Extension Office in Medina County.
