I married in my Senior year at Napa High, 1964. After leaving school, I figured I would just be a housewife, but life took some unusual turns for me. My marriage didn't last very long and after three children I found myself on my own. I worked as a cocktail waitress and as a laundry worker but I hated the work. I started working at Napa State Hospital in 1975. I started in Food Service, then worked as a Janitor and finally went through school and became a Psychiatric Technician. I never expected that I would want to work with the mentally challenged, but I found that I enjoyed it and was very good at it...if I do say so myself.
