Charlene's Story
Well after high school, I went to CAC in Coolidge Ariz. Went back to the rez for about two years....Worked at Apache Gold as a beverage server. Then in 2002 my mom and I decided to leave the rez. So my family and I are now living a good life outside of Phoenix. I love my job working with special needs children
I have been working for Gilbert Schools for a total of 13 years, 2 1/2 years as a Food Service Worker and 10 years as a Paraprofessional Specialist/Tech. I enjoy working with children with disabilities. I am blessed with wonderful parents and great siblings. My baby sister is our miracle baby, born with disabilities. I am extremely grateful she is in our lives. If not for her, my life may be only a dream still wishing to come true. This year 2016/2017 I will be a teacher candidate, working alongside my mentor.
I am ready for what's up ahead in my life, Thank you Lord for being there for me and my family.
