Charlene's Story
Life
I really am so grateful for everything and everyone in my life, more so than ever... life is just going to get better and better; I can FEEL it!! I recently started running (mostly on the treadmill at the gym) and I TOTALLY get the high they talk about! It's very exciting because I never knew I could actually ENJOY exercise! I read a lot, spend WAY too much time on the internet, go out with friends dancing (though I'm out of the "getting-wasted-at-the-bar" phase), see movies, watch tv, always looking for new music. I'm extremely open-minded and like trying new things (although I'm famous for always ordering the same thing when I go to my favorite restaurants).
I'm close to my sister Margy and I love hanging out with her girls (4 and 10) when I can. No kids of my own --I figure I would KNOW by now if I really wanted them, so that's probably not in my future. I have mixed feelings on that. Still haven't found "the one," if there IS such a thing. Won't hold my breath. But I AM ready to start dating and getting more of a social life-- I WISH my friends would go out with me more!! They're pretty unexciting! (They KNOW I'm right. LOL) If only Leslie was back here-- she's lots of fun!
I got on My Space recently and did my profile-- I feel like I'm a little old for this, but you wouldn't believe the number of 28-48 year-olds from Cambria County alone with profiles! (Mostly guys of course talking to me-- duh, I know why most of them are there-- but i would love to talk to anyone i knew back at CCHS or IUP!! ) Update: I started hanging out with Lori (Schmall) Pelkey an made two new friends on MySpace...so happy because I have a way better social life. Lori likes to go out and dance :...Expand for more
)
I'm in Moxham right now-- I moved back here from Richmond, VA four years ago, and thankfully I got to spend more time with my dad before he passed away almost two years ago. I lost the weight I put on while I was with my last boyfriend (ugh! I won't even start on THAT subject!!) and I feel great!!!
School
As for high school, I had a lot of fun my senior year, with majorettes and all my activities (oh yeah, and my renegade boyfriend-- don't remind me) but before that it sorta sucked, and I really don't want to do that over again. I'm still friends with Leslie Urish and occasionally see Joyce (Moose) Hockenberry, but have lost touch with everyone else (some by choice!! but I won't talk sh*t :) I wish I could find Dawn Wasser again-- lost touch when I moved to VA. So tell her to email me!!
College
Graduated IUP. Did WAY too much partying (i'm lucky i made it out unscathed) and still got a 3.15 average, so I always regret I didn't apply myself more and maybe figure out another major I liked while I was still there. I wanted to be a news reporter/anchor at the time, but during my internship at Channel 10 (my last 12 credits!!) realized I really wasn't into it. I love learning things, and if I could I would definitely go back to school full time.
Workplace
Unfortunately, I lost my job in October b/c I was having some medical problems and ran out of sick time. (I have been burnt out on customer service for a long time, really, so would love to find something different. I'm looking for a job: suggestions appreciated!!) I am unsure whether I want to go back to school to be a massage therapist or an elementary school teacher or guidance counselor. Having a hard time figuring all that out.
